Chilling mystery of woman who disappeared from cruise ship but didn't fall overboard World News

Amy's shoes had been left behind, but her lighter and cigarettes had apparently vanished alongside her. At this point, Ron has a gut feeling that something was wrong, knowing that it just wasn't like his daughter to take off without letting her family know where she was going. This would be the last time Ron or any of Amy's family members would see her, and the mystery of what exactly happened to the outgoing and sporty physical education graduate has since proven to be one of the most perplexing missing person cases of all time. In March of 1998 Amy Lynn Bradley and her family set off on what was to be the trip of a lifetime, a full week-long cruise around the Caribbean. But little did they know their dream vacation would turn into a nightmare when Amy goes missing from their stateroom in the early morning hours of March 24, 1998. Over 20 years have passed and clues of her fate are few and far between, but there have been credible sightings to suggest that Amy is alive and being held captive.

Amy Lynn Bradley was on vacation with her parents and brother on the Royal Caribbean International cruise line ship Rhapsody of the Seas when she disappeared on March 24, 1998. FBI Special Agent Erin Sheridan said Bradley went to a club with her brother, Brad, along with other passengers and crew, the night before she went missing. In the early morning and into the evenings you may experience cooler weather.

The Mysterious Case Of Amy Lynn Bradley, The 23-Year-Old Who Vanished From A Cruise Ship

The FBI and the Bradley family have both offered sizable rewards for information on her whereabouts. The woman in the photograph is identified as “Jas” — a sex worker in the Caribbean. Unfortunately, this upsetting clue didn’t generate any new leads. “We noticed immediately there was a tremendous amount of attention toward Amy from the crew members,” Iva Bradley told Dr. Phil.

Brad was the last person to see her alive, according to authorities. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) said Amy Lynn Bradley, of Petersburg, Virginia, was last seen on March 24, 1998. At that time, she was 23 years old and vacationing with her loved ones aboard the Royal Caribbean International Cruise Line’s ship Rhapsody of the Seas. However, for now, her disappearance remains a disturbing mystery.

November of 2005 saw Amy's parents make an appearance on Dr. Phil, bringing with them an image that had been emailed to them depicting a “distraught and despondent” young woman resembling Amy, which suggested she was sold into sexual slavery. The photos were found by a member or an organization dedicated to tracking down the victims of sex trafficking. Ron went to his daughter’s bedroom to see if she’d gone back to sleep. Aside from cigarettes and a lighter, it didn’t seem like Amy Lynn Bradley had taken anything with her. Ever since Bradley vanished, there have been a series of disturbing sightings of her. In 2005, someone even sent her distressed family a gut-wrenching photograph that suggested she’d been trafficked into sexual slavery. The easiest explanation for Amy Lynn Bradley’s disappearance is that she fell overboard and was swallowed by the ocean waves. But Bradley was a strong swimmer and a trained lifeguard — and the ship was not far from shore. The family says one crew member even wanted to take Amy out to a restaurant when the ship docked in Aruba, but the offer gave her the "creeps".

The material was said to have been recorded by an advertising crew, but unfortunately, it was not able to provide a new direction for the case. A photo from an adult content website was sent to Amy’s family, and the woman in the photo really resembled the victim. This reminded me of the Rui Pedro Case, where a photo bore a strong resemblance to the missing boy, but the police were unable to trace its origin, much like in the Amy Bradley case. During the ship’s party, Amy reportedly spent a lot of time talking to a member of the musical band. The man told the police that he was with Amy until 1 AM and then they parted ways. Although the investigation focused entirely on this suspect, nothing could be proven.

Chillingly, the professional photographer on the cruise printed out all the photos he'd taken to sell them at his stall, but the family could find no evidence of Amy, leading them to believe someone else had taken all of them first. Over the course of the next five days, Royal Caribbean staff and the Netherlands Antilles Coast Guard searched the ship and surrounding waters, but found no trace of Amy, and no evidence to suggest foul play or that the young woman had overboard. Furthermore, trained lifeguard Amy was known to be a very strong swimmer, and it was deemed unlikely that she would drown so close to the shore. Certain that something terrible must have happened, the Bradley family begged the cruise ship to cancel plans to dock at Curaçao. They didn’t want anyone to leave the ship until a thorough search could be carried out.

She returned to her room and then went out for a cigarette, never to return. As the ship was close to Curacao and Amy was a strong swimmer, her family thinks it unlikely that she fell overboard and drowned. Two passengers on the ship thought they saw her that morning on one of the ship's elevators, further indicating they last saw her at about 6 a.m. When authorities were alerted that Amy was missing, the Netherlands Antilles Coast Guard conducted a four-day search in the surrounding waters and along the cruise lines to no result. Authorities began to speculate that she may have fallen overboard and drowned, but investigators have rejected this theory as Amy was known to be a strong swimmer and searches turned up no sign of her. In August 1998, tourists saw a woman resembling Bradley on a beach and in 1999 a member of the U.S.

An announcement was finally made at 7.50 am, by which point the majority of passengers had disembarked, and although crew conducted a search of the common areas, the passenger and staffrooms went unsearched. During an interview with Dr Phil, Iva recalled how "there was a tremendous amount of attention toward Amy from the crew members". When Ron went to check on his daughter again just 30 minutes later, at around 6 am, she was nowhere to be seen.

In 2017, the FBI shared age-progressed photos of what Bradley might look like. The agency described Bradley as a white woman who has short brown hair, green eyes, weighs 120 pounds, and is 5 feet 6 inches tall. Six years later, a woman claimed to have seen Bradley in a department store restroom in Barbados. According to the witness, the woman she met introduced herself as “Amy from Virginia” and was fighting with two or three men. From Glacier Bay to Ketchikan to wildlife kayak excursions, guests will immerse themselves in Alaskan nature and beauty up-close.

12 Shocking Things You Didn't Know About Amy Lynn Bradley

The ship was making its way through the Caribbean Sea when the 23-year-old vanished. Before she went missing, Amy was out socializing at the cruise’s disco with her brother, other passengers and a live band, Blue Orchid. One of the band’s member’s, Alister Douglas, known as Yellow, said he and Amy partied together, but that they said goodnight around 1 a.m. And in 2005 the Bradleys received an email containing a photo of a woman who appeared to be Amy, lying on a bed in her underwear. A member of an organization that locates sex trafficking victims on adult websites noticed the photo and thought it could be Amy. After searching common areas on the ship, the family became increasingly concerned.

They continue their search efforts and offer rewards for people who may know Amy Bradley’s whereabouts or have information about her. This news came shortly after the Natalee Holloway Case, a girl who also disappeared during a Caribbean vacation in 2005. Furthermore, the professional photographer printed all the photos taken during the cruise to sell at a booth, but the family couldn’t find any photos of Amy, leading them to believe that the photos had been removed by someone. During the years that followed, dozens of people claimed to have seen Amy in Curaçao. The first report came from a taxi driver, who said she approached his car, asked to use his phone, and then left.

Disturbing Sightings Of Amy Lynn Bradley Deepen The Mystery

According to her brother, Brad Bradley, Amy was receiving a lot of attention from the ship’s crew during the party, which made her uncomfortable. The ship’s staff disagreed, claiming they didn’t want to create panic among the crew. The ship was docked, and people started disembarking rapidly, while the ship authorities hadn’t even started searching for Amy Bradley at that point. The search officially ended on March 29, and although her body has never been found, Amy was legally declared dead 12 years later. Many people feel there's more to the story, however, and there have been numerous reported sightings over the years. Within just 24 hours of Amy's disappearance, a taxi driver came forward, claiming he was approached by a frantic woman matching Amy's description, who asked him where she could find a pay phone before running off.

Amy's shoes had been left behind, but her lighter and cigarettes had apparently vanished alongside her. Investigation

That year, the family received another promising clue — which turned out to be a devastating scam. Army Special Forces officer who could rescue Amy from armed Colombians holding her in Curacao. The Bradleys gave him $200,000 before they realized he was a fraud. This anecdote is even creepier given that Carlos and Charlie’s Restaurant is where Natalee Holloway — an 18-year-old American woman who disappeared in Aruba in 2005 — was last seen.

The Mysterious Case Of Amy Lynn Bradley, The 23-Year-Old Who Vanished From A Cruise Ship

The parents pleaded with the captain not to dock the ship and to broadcast messages on the microphone informing that Amy was missing. They feared that a criminal might disembark and escape the location, possibly taking the victim with them. The Bradleys were emailed photos of a lingerie-clad woman named "Jas", which had been posted on a defunct website advertising "all-inclusive Erotic Vacations" in the Caribbean.

In August of that year, a Canadian tourist claimed to see a Amy—a woman with identical tattoos that made him certain in was her—walking with two men on a Curaçao beach, desperate to get his attention. However, there have been multiple potential sightings of her in the years since, leading to a belief that on that fateful morning Amy was taken to be sold into human trafficking. On March 24, 1998, Amy Lynn Bradley went missing from a cruise ship en route to Curacao from Aruba.

No one saw Amy leave the ship, although a Curacao cab driver would later tell her father that she approached his cab on the morning of her disappearance and said she needed to get to a telephone. Other people have come forward to say that they too had seen Amy, to include a U.S. Navy Petty Officer who said he had seen her in a Curacao brothel and she had asked him for help, even telling him her name. He said he had decided not to report the incident at that time, fearing that he would get into trouble with the Navy for having been in a brothel, and only contacted Amy's family after he had retired and saw her picture, and perhaps information of a reward, in a magazine. The sailor's report has never been substantiated, and the reward of $260,000 remains unclaimed.

How traffickers get their victimsThe victims of white slave sex trafficking across the world are usually women and girls, although young boys are also victimized. To survive, a victim must learn to separate her mind from her body, convincing herself that she is not really there as she is continuously victimized. That is probably the only way someone could emotionally survive such a horrific ordeal. Twenty-three year old Amy Bradley was last seen by her parents in her room on a cruise ship bound for Curacao. It was the morning of March 24, 1998, and Amy had been up most of the night dancing in the ship's disco.

Sex trafficking operations are found in high risk, high profile activities such as street prostitution, as well as more underground systems such as private brothels that operate out of homes and advertised only person to person, or perhaps via the Internet. Sex trafficking also takes place in a variety of public and private locations such as massage parlors, spas, strip clubs and other fronts for prostitution. Victims may start off dancing or stripping in clubs and then be coerced into situations of prostitution and pornography. One sign in front of a Hong Kong club stated, "Young, Fresh Hong Kong Girls; White, Clean Malaysian Girls; Beijing women; Luxurious Ghost Girls from Russia."

Additionally, the Bradley family is offering $50,000 for information regarding her location and $250,000 for information that leads to her safe return. Her brother Brad was the last family member to speak to her, when he said bye to her before going to sleep the night before. “Myself and my parents have had to endure a lot of sadness, but the last thing that I ever said to Amy was, “I love you,” before I went to sleep that night. Knowing that that’s the last thing I said to her has always been very comforting to me,” Brad said.

On March 21, 1998, 23-year-old Amy Lynn Bradley boarded Royal Caribbean’s Rhapsody of the Seas with her parents and brother. They were looking forward to a tropical family vacation at the end of a chilly winter. But just days later, as the ship headed toward Curaçao, Bradley vanished.
